We are pleased to announce a new edition of our 2-day practical academy dedicated to the assessmentand treatment of patients with valvular heart disease.
The event will take place on September 24 - 25^th 2026, at SITEM Inselspital, Bern. This year, the program of this two-day training event has been adapted to attract a broader - less specialized - audience and serves as an exchange platform for referring cardiologists, cardiologists in training, and hospital specialists from Switzerland and neighboring countries.

The course will newly include update sessions showcasing the latest evidence concerning the diagnostic and treatment of valvular heart disease, as well as practical exercises focusing on optimizing transthoracic echocardiography. The program will also include new dedicated sessions on aortic valve disease developed in collaboration with Prof. Thomas Pilgrim.

The new curriculum will include:

• Lectures delivered in English showcasing the latest evidence concerning the diagnostic and treatment of valvular heart disease
• Four imaging live cases (2 transthoracic echocardiography and 2 transesophageal echocardiography)
• Workshops with practical exercises focusing on optimizing transthoracic echocardiography for the assessment of patients with valvular heart disease
• Interactions with multidisciplinary Heart Teams
• Discussion on the latest imaging technologies, as well as interventional and surgical treatment options
